Pestana Delfim

When I photographed the Pestana Delfim, in Alvor on the Algarve coast, I wanted to capture the serenity of a beach resort overlooking Praia dos Três Irmãos. I photographed the turquoise pools framed by pine trees, always seeking the moment when the Atlantic light reflects off the surface and the sea appears in the distance, like a promise of rest.

I devoted myself to the resort’s different layers: the broad gardens with their lawns and sun loungers, the padel and tennis courts, the bright rooms — many with sea views — and the shared spaces, from the curved reception desk to the aquarium lounge. I always sought the generous natural light of the Algarve, which gives the space a light and inviting atmosphere.

From the colourful kids’ club to the calm of the pools at dusk, I worked to build a visual narrative that lets the viewer imagine their own stay. This series is my account of the Pestana Delfim — a place where the Algarve, the sea, and the comfort of a family resort come together.
