For the gastronomic project of the Pestana Cidadela Cascais, I immersed myself in the world of flavours that bring this seaside fortress to life. I devoted myself to photographing the abundant table of Portuguese petiscos — the charcuterie boards, the olives, the cheeses, the fresh seafood and the sharing plates — seeking to capture the generosity and conviviality that define this house’s cuisine. I wanted each image to convey the aroma, the texture and the warmth of a meal enjoyed without haste, in the warm light of the historic dining rooms.

I worked the food styling of each dish with attention to detail: the golden grilled prawns on the platter, the colourful ceviche in the ceramic bowl, the freshly baked bread and the açordas served at the table. I sought the perfect composition between the artisanal tableware, the wooden surface and the natural light, photographing the signature dishes as small works of art that celebrate the produce of the Portuguese sea and land.

Finally, I turned to the art of the drink: the refreshing sangrias, the garnished gin and tonics, the signature cocktails being served and the wine accompanying each moment. I sought to record the movement and ritual of the bar — the ice, the shimmer of the liquid, the vibrant fruit — telling the complete story of a gastronomic experience where every detail, from the petisco to the toast, was designed to delight.
